Biography

Joe joined the Fluid Power Institute as a Test Engineer with a background in Aerospace and flight test. He received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. He has academic experience in the creation and operation of R&D testbeds. He is quickly becoming a Fluid Power expert and leverages MSOE capabilities for rapid prototyping and manufacturing. Currently, Joe works in the capacity as a Project Engineer with FPI’s military customers.

Prior to joining the Fluid Power Institute, Joe was a civilian Flight Test Engineer on unmanned aerial platforms for the United States Navy. He also previously worked for the Detroit-based branch of Comau Automation, Aerospace Division, as a Technical Specialist. There, he was involved in the proposal and conceptual development of automated manufacturing systems for Aerospace OEMs. Throughout his professional and academic career, Joe has pursued interests in lean manufacturing and intuitive user interfaces.
