Since 1986, Tom has been part of Price Engineering, a 60 year old family business in Wisconsin. Spending time in a variety of positions in the company including sales, engineering and engineering management, Tom was well positioned to take over as president of Price Engineering in 2003. With Tom’s guidance, Price Engineering has created a unique niche within wholesale distribution in Wisconsin by building a strong engineering and design focus, providing system integration services, and combining that with low volume and serial production in light manufacturing of fluid power and motion control systems.
Not only has Price Engineering built local expertise in combining traditional mobile machinery fluid power with ruggedized PLCs and networking systems, they have also become proficient in industrial motion control, user interface and back office solutions. Today they are enhancing their engineering and product expertise with local field service and supply chain. This unique combination of talents enable them to partner early on in the development phase with mobile and industrial OEMs as well as assist engineering minded industrial users intent on keeping their plants up and running.
Tom received a BSME from the University of Wisconsin in 1981 and then spent 6 years with Ingersoll Rand in California and Virginia as an application engineer for large air compressor systems.
