Biography

Austin Ramirez is President and CEO of HUSCO International, a global designer and manufacturer of hydraulic components for automotive and off-highway applications. Under his leadership, the company was designated as a Global Growth Company by the World Economic Forum and recognized as Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year.

Prior to being appointed President and CEO in 2011, Ramirez served as President of INCOVA Technologies, a subsidiary of HUSCO International, as well as director of strategic business development.  Earlier in his career, Ramirez was a consultant for McKinsey & Company in its corporate finance and strategy practice group.

In 2016, Ramirez was selected as a White House Fellow by then President Barak Obama and served on the National Economic Council for both the Obama and Trump Administrations. In 2014, Ramirez was named a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and is the founding curator of the Forum’s Global Shaper Hub in Milwaukee.

An active citizen of Milwaukee with a passion for urban education, Ramirez has served on the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. In addition, Ramirez is a director of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, Metropolitan Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers.

Ramirez earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Goldman Sachs Fellow, and graduated as an Arjay Miller Scholar, awarded to the top 10% of academic performers in the graduating class. An undergraduate of the University of Virginia, he was an All American swimmer as well as a USA Swimming National Champion and FINA World Championships gold medalist.
